🛰 Latest Uwan (Fung Wong) Typhoon Update

  • Status: Upgraded to a Severe Tropical Storm
  • Location: ~1,690 km east of northeastern Mindanao
  • Maximum sustained winds: 95 km/h, gustiness up to 115 km/h
  • Movement: Northwestward at about 10–15 km/h
  • Forecast entry into PAR: Late Friday night or early Saturday (Nov 8)
  • Forecast intensity: Expected to reach Typhoon strength by tonight and possibly a Super Typhoon by Saturday evening.
  • Forecast landfall: Around Monday (Nov 10) over Northern or Central Luzon.
  • Wind signals: None yet raised; Signal No. 1 may be issued over eastern Luzon within 24 hours.

PAGASA reminds the public that sea travel remains risky for small vessels along the eastern seaboards of Visayas and Mindanao. Coastal and mountain communities should monitor advisories for heavy rain and gusty wind beginning this weekend.

According to PAGASA, Tropical Storm Fung Wong has slightly intensified and is expected to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility within the next 24 hours, where it will be locally named Uwan.

  • Current Status: Tropical Storm (possible Typhoon within 24 hours)
  • Location: ~1,500 km east of Northern Luzon
  • Wind Strength: 85 km/h (gusts up to 105 km/h)
  • Direction: West-northwest, heading toward Luzon
  • Forecast: May strengthen into a Super Typhoon by weekend
  • Landfall Projection: Between November 9–10, 2025 (Northern or Central Luzon)
