Ethiopia Yirgacheffe G1 Konga Natural

Yirgacheffe in Ethiopia is famous for its unique coffees. This particular lot comes from Konga village in the Gedeo Zone, where smallholder farmers grow coffee at elevations between 1,900 and 2,200 meters. The high altitude and cool weather help the cherries ripen slowly, which leads to complex sugars and lively aromas.

This coffee is made using the natural, or dry, process. Whole cherries are dried in the sun on raised beds before the beans are taken out. Drying the fruit whole lets the natural sugars soak into the beans, giving the coffee a fruity and expressive flavor.

You can expect strong flavors of ripe berries, juicy peach, and bright citrus like lemon or orange. These are layered with floral aromas similar to jasmine and a gentle, chocolate-like sweetness.
